Need help in 2010 nanyang SA2

QN 14,

There are 60% as many blueberry pies as banana pies and 20% more chocolate pies than
the blueberry pies. What is the ratio of the number of banana pies to the number of chocolate pies?

QN 15,

The ratio of the length of a cuboid to its breadth is 3:2. The base area of the cuboid is 24 cm2.
Find the volume of the cuboid if the ratio of its length to its height is 1:2.

the blueberry pies. What is the ratio of the number of banana pies to the number of chocolate pies?

Take banana as 1.00
Blueberry would be 1.60
Chocolate would be 1.60 * 1.20 = 1.92

Therefore Banana : Chocolate = 1 : 1.92 = 25 : 48

QN 15,

The ratio of the length of a cuboid to its breadth is 3:2. The base area of the cuboid is 24 cm2.
Find the volume of the cuboid if the ratio of its length to its height is 1:2.

3u * 2u = 6u squared = 24
1u squared = 4
1u = 2 cm
Length = 3u = 6cm
Height = 6u = 12cm
Volume = 24 * 12 = 288 cm cube

Qn 14 solutions:
Blueberry : Banana = 3 : 5.
Chocolate : Blueberry = 6 : 5
Make blueberry same number, this gives banana : chocolate = 25 : 18.

Qn 15 solutions:
To enable the child to see this, you need to draw. Since length : breadth = 3 : 2. There are 6 squares in the base area. Each square is 4 cm2. After that, the child will figure out that the length is 6cm, and the breadth is 4cm. Since length : height = 1 : 2, height is therefore 12cm.
Thus, volume is 6 x 4 x 12 = 288 cm3.
