Charmaine and Jolene had some stamps at first. After Jolene had given 68 stamps to Charmaine, the ratio of the number of stamps that Charmaine had to the number of stamps that Jolene had became 5:1. Given that Charmaine had 1248 stamps more than Jolene at first, find the number of stamps Jolene had at first.

Thank you in advance.

See attachment for model.

From the model, 4u=68 + 1248 + 68= 1384
thus, 1u = 346
Therefore, No. Of stamps Jolene had at first = 346 + 68 =414

Hope this helps:-)
