A Piggy bank has a total of 2562 coins consisting of one dollar coins, fifty cent and twenty cent coins
3/7 of the one dollar coins and 32 of the fifty cent coins are taken out
20 more twenty cent coins are put in
After that , there is an equal number of one dollar , fifty cent and twenty cent coins in the piggy baby
How many of each type of coins are there in the piggy bank at first?

Hey

Draw bar models as follows:

\$1 coins --> 7 units
Shade 3 units to show as taken out
Therefore left only 4 units.

50 cent coins --> Remaining will also be 4 units (same as above) + 32 coins which were taken out
20 cent coins --> Remaining also 4 units (this includes 20 coins which were added in to the original quantity)

7 units + 4 units + 4 units + 32 - 20 = 2562
15 units = 2550
1 unit = 170

\$1 coin --> 7 x 170 = 1,190
50 cent coins --> (4 x 170) + 32 = 680 + 32 = 712
20 cent coins --> (4 x 170) - 20 = 680 - 20 = 660

Hope this helps.
