Below is a question that i cannot understand, can someone help?

The ratio of the number of flats to the number of condominiums in a town was 3:8.
After more condominiums were launched, 20% of the total number of the housing was flats.
What was the percentage increase in the number of condominiums ?

It is from Catholic High 2009 SA2

Hi,
the number of flats will remain unchanged, so

at first,
flats : condo
3 : 8

after more condo were launched,

20% = 3 units
80% = 12 units

the number of condo increased by 4 units, so 4/8 X 100% = 50%

ans: 50%
