Go through this solution and try your question

thanks

Keane bought some marbles and gave half of them to Leon. Leon bought some stamps and gave half of them to Keane.
Keane used 5 stamps and Leon gave away 11 marbles.. The ratio of the number of stamps to the number of marbles Keane had left then became 1:7 and the ratio of the number of stamps to the number of marbles Leon had left became 1:5. How many stamps did Leon buy?
Keane
Before
Stamps: u+5
Marbles: 7u

After
Stamps: u
Marbles: 7u

Leon
Before
Stamps: p
Marbles: 5p+11

After
Stamps: p
Marbles: 5p

Compare for "before"
u+5=p
7u=5p+11

u=5p/7+11/7

5p/7+11/7+5=p
p-5p/7=11/7+5
2p/7=46/7
2p=46

Number of stamps bought by Leon = 46.

12)Michael

P [----]
A [----][----][----][----]<--20-->

Jackson

P [----][---25---]
A [----][---25---][----][---25---]

we compare the apples of both

4u + 20 = 2u + 50
2u = 30
1u = 15
No. of pears Jackson bought --- (1u + 25) x 2 --- 80 (ans)
