There are 2 rooms. there is lamp in room 1, and 3 switches in room 2. 1 of the switch in room 2 is connected to the lamp in room 1. How do you determine which switch can control the lamp in room1 if u can only enter each room once.

Can we have 2 different persons going into the two rooms at the same time? And how far apart are the two rooms? If they are side by side, then we can tell just by switching on the lights one at a time in Room 2 since the number of tries is not limited in the qn.

turn on switch No. 1 for a while.
off switch 1 and on switch 2 then walk to the room.
If the lamp is on then switch 2 is the one control the lamp if not
touch the lamp if it's hot then switch 1 is the ones else switch 3 is the answer.

You can switch on the first switch for a while, then switch on the second one. Go to the lamp room and see if it's on. If not, touch the lamp, if it's hot, it's the first one. If it isn't, then it might be the third.
