Can somebody help me solve these questions?

Q1:If Tom buys 4 identical pairs of slippers,he will have $9 left.
If he buys 7 identical pairs of slippers,he will be short of $45.
How much does he have?

Q2:Mrs Chan had some bookmarks.She gave 50% of the bookmarks to her sister and 10% of the remainder to her brother and the rest to 5 children.
If each child receives 36 bookmark,how many bookmarks did she have at first?

Q3:There are 8 people in a room.If every person shakes hands with every other person,
how many handshakes are there altogether?

Q4: Terrence's age is 3\8 that of Sabrina's age.Candice's age is 2\9 that of Terrence's age.Find the ratio of Candice's age to Sabrina's age?

Q5:40% of Paul's age is the same as 25% of James' age.Their total age is 130 years.Find Paul's age in 20 years' time.

1.Let n be the cost of the slippers.
4 x n+9=7 x n-45
4n+9=7n-45
3n=45+9
=54
1n=18
18 x 4+9=81

2. Sister = 50%
Brother = 10% remainder (50% x 10% = 5%)
5 children = (100% - 50% - 5%) / 5 = 9%
9% = 36 bookmarks => 1% = 4 bookmarks
Total bookmarks she has at first (100%) = 4 x 100 = 400 bookmarks

3. 1st shakes with 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
2nd shakes with 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
3rd shakes with 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
...... 7 shakes with 8

7 + 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 28 hand shakes

4. T : S => 3 : 8
T : C => 9 : 2
x3 T : S => 9 : 24
C : S => 2 : 24

Therefore, C : S => 1 : 12

5.
P : [40%][40%][20%] [40%][20%]
J : [25%][25%][12.5%] [25%][12.5%]

Let P = x
J = x + 0.6x = 1.6x

x + 1.6x = 130
2.6x = 130
x = 50

P = 50 yrs old now.
P + 20 yrs later = 50 + 20 = 70 yrs
