Jack and Jill each saved a fixed amount of money every day. Jill, who started saving earlier, saved \$3 each day. By the 20th day of Jill's savings, Jack had saved \$20. By the 26th day of Jill's savings, Jack had saved \$44.
(a) How much did Jack save each day?
(b) On which day of Jill's savings would their total savings be \$164?

Day-----------------20th--------------26th

Jill savings----(20x3=\$60)-----(26x3=\$78)

Jack savings------\$20-------------\$44

a)
From 20th to 26th----> 6days
Diff in Jack savings--> \$44 - \$20 =\$24
Jack's savings --------> \$24 / 6 = \$4 each day

b)
Sum of Jill +Jack savings on 26th day----> \$78 + \$44 = \$122
Sum of Jill + Jack savings each day ------> \$3 + \$4 = \$7
Difference in total savings--------------------> \$164 - \$122 = \$42
Number of days---------------------------------> \$42 / \$7 = 6
6 days from 26th -------------------------------> 26 + 6 = 32th day
