Hi there,

Solution is provided as follows:

Since XSR and PXQ have a common base of SR ( = PQ ), we have ...

XSR + PXQ = ( SR / 2 ) x ( sum of respective heights of XSR, PXQ )
= ( SR x PS ) / 2
= ( Area of Rectangle PQRS ) / 2
= 122.25 + 144.5
= 266.75

Area of XSQ = PQS - PXS - PXQ
= [ ( Area of Rectangle PQRS ) / 2 ] - 44.14 - 144.5
= 266.75 - 188 .64
= 78.11 cm2

===========================================================

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Edward
