Hey there,

Following pls find the worked solution for Q1.

Q1.

<Before>
Y : P
9 : 7

<Process>
Y: +54-129 = -75
P: -44

<After>
6 : 5

Two methods / techniques can be used; (i) Cross-Multiply or (ii) Simultaneous
We used method (i) here.

( 9u - 75 ) / 6 = ( 7u - 44 ) / 5
5 x ( 9u - 75 ) = 6 x ( 7u - 44 )
45u - 375 = 42u - 264
45u - 42u --> 375 - 264
3u --> 111
1u --> 37

Y (end) = 9u - 75 --> ( 9 x 37 ) - 75
= 333 - 75
= 258

=========================================

Trust the above helps. Btw do u have the answerkey for Q2 ??

Cheers,
Edward
