Hi everybody! I am stuck with this maths question again.

440 teachers and pupils participated in a tree planting event. Each teacher planted 2 trees and each group of 4 pupils planted 3 trees. If 455 trees were planted altogether during the event, how many pupils participated in the event?

Extract info :
Total people : 440
Total trees planted : 455
Each Teacher planted 2 trees
Each group of 4 students planted 3 trees

Using guess & check method

100 teachers x 2 trees = 200 trees
Remainding students :440-100 = 340
(340/4)groups of students x 3 trees = 255 trees
Total trees planted: 200 + 255 = 455 trees

Therefore, total students participated is 340.
