Pls help, why the answer is 1/3 and not 2/5?

A hexagon can make 6 small triangles from the base of each sides to the centre. Then each small trianle is 1/6 fraction of the hexagon.
When you take 1 of the small triangle and extend the height to what is shown in the figure, then the area will be twice that of 1/6 which is 1/3.

Area of 1 small triangle = 1/2 x base x h1 = 1/6
when height is twice h1, area = 1/2 x base x (h1 x 2) = 1/6 x 2 = 1/3
