Hey Sundar,

Following pls find my worked solution:

Q14. (ACS Prelim 2010 Paper 2)

Diameter of Circle = 30 cm; Radius of circle = 15 cm

Given that A, B, C are centres of respective circles, AC = AB = CB = diameter = 30 cm

Therefore, triangle ABC is an equilateral triangle in which all 3 interior angles = 60° each.

Area of shaded circle (centre C)
= (300/360) x pi x 15 x 15
= (5/6) x pi x 225 = (1125 x pi) / 6

Total Shaded Area = 3 x [(1125 x pi) / 6]
= (1125 x pi) / 2 = 1767.15 cm2
