Pls help to solve this question.
On Sat, there were 50 more females than males at the concert. On Sun, the number of females increased by 10% and the number of makes decreased by 20%, resulting in 625 people at the concert. Each ticket cost \$25. How much money was collected on Sat?

Hey Fanny,

Following pls find my worked solution:

F inc 10% to 110% (11/10); M dec 20% to 80% (8/10)

Hence the equal 1 part (1p) portion in both the F and M models above can be divided into 10 equal smaller units (u). We now have ...

F: 10u + 50
M: 10u

<Sun>

F: (11/10) x [10u + 50] = 11u + 55
M: (8/10) x 10u = 8u

Given that there were 625 people at the concert on Sunday, we have ...

11u + 55 + 8u --> 625
19u --> 625 - 55 = 570
1u --> 30

Hence number of people at the concert on Sat
= 20u + 50 --> (20 x 30) + 50
= 650

Given that each ticket cost \$25,

Amount collected on Sat = 650 x 25 = \$16250
