1) 60% of the fruits are guavas and the rest were apples. 50% of the guavas and 70% of the apples were sold. What percentage of the fruits were sold?

2) Aaron was supposed to subtract a small number from a big number. He added them instead. The difference in Aaron's answer and the correct answer was 112. If the big number was 126 more than the small number, what was the product of the two numbers?

Hey Shirley

Following pls find the worked solution:

Q1

G (Sold): 0.5 x 60 = 30%
A (Sold): 0.7 x 40 = 28%
% of fruits sold = 30% + 28% = 58%

====================================

Q2

B - S = 126
(B + S) - (B - S) = 112
B + S - B + S = 112
2S = 112
S = 56
B = 126 + 56 = 182
B × S = 182 × 56 = 10192

==================================

Trust this helps.

Do let me know again if these are different from your Answerkeys or if there's further clarification.

Cheers,
Edward
