1) Calvin will make earnings percentage of 25% if he sells the diamond at \$1875. What is his earnings if he sells the diamond at \$2140?

2) A restaurant charges \$14 per person for a buffet dinner. For every 4 people, one of them will get it free. A group of people came and paid a total of \$196. How many people were there in the group?

2140 - 1500 = 640

8 pax = \$84
12 pax = \$126
16 pax = \$168
20 pax = \$210
For \$196 will be (\$196 - \$168 = \$28 balance), ie. 16 pax + 2 pax = 18 pax.
