Q15
Since the nbr of sheep left is equal to nbr of goat left,
Sheep left ----->352 ÷ 2= 176
sheep left -----> 100% - 20% = 80%
80 / 100 S = 176
Goats left -----> 100% - 12% = 88%
88 / 100 G = 176
Total sheep = 176 x 100/80 = 220
Total goats = 176 x 100/88 = 200

Fraction for sheep + goats -----> 1 - 2/5 = 3/5
3/5 T ------> 220 +200 = 420
1/5 T ------> 420 ÷ 3 = 140
a) cow-----> 2 x 140 = 280

b) Total ----> 5 x 140 = 700 animals

Work from the back to front and you will get the following:

At first
D[---][---][---][---]
L [---][---][---][---][---]

Don gave 1/4 to Larry
D[---][---][---]
L [---][---][---][---][---][---]

Larry gave 1/2 to Don
D[---][---][---][---][---][---]
L [---][---][---]

9 units -------> 315
1 unit ---------> 315 ÷ 9 = 35
a)Don --------> 4 x 35 = 140 at first
b)Larry -------> 315 - 140 = 175 at first

Q17

May average ---> 24
June average --->26 after added 5 classes of 32 participants

Total difference ------> (5 x 32) - (5 x 26) = 30
Difference in average ---> 26 - 24 = 2
Number of classes in May ----> 30 ÷ 2 = 15
Number of classes in June ---> 15 + 5 = 20

In June, total participants ----> 20 x 26 = 520
