Express as ratio

Gordon: Boys : Girls : Total
4 : 1 : 5
becomes 24 : 6 : 30

Jayanthi: Boys : Girls : Total
5 : 1 : 6
becomes 25 : 5 : 30

Note: Total children unchanged.
Step 1 Make total the same.
2 Total Boys = 24 + 1 (Gordon) = 25
3 Total Girls = 6
4 Difference 25 - 6 = 19
