Hi there,
Just want to confirm if the answer from the answer sheet is wrong?

Q15 : Yazid and his classmates raced one another across a field. Midway through the race, 1/5 of Yazid's classmates was running in front of him and
7/9 of the total number of pupils in the class was running behind him. What was the total number of pupils in the class including Yazid?
(1) 35
(2) 36
(3) 38

Q23 : 8 girls take 3 days to paint a room. How many girls are required to paint the same room in 1 day?

Thanks

Hey there,

Following pls find my worked solutions:

Q15.

(7/9) --> 4 p --> (28/36)
5p --> [(28/36) ÷ 4] × 5 = (35/36)
Hence, there are 35 pupils ahead and behind Y.
Total number of pupils (incl Y) = 35 + 1 = 36

========================

Q23

1 day - 8 g - (1/3) room
1 day - ? g - (3/3) room

? = 3 x 8 = 24 girls

=======================

Trust the above helps.

Do let me know again if there's further clarification.

Cheers,
Edward
