Hi, can someone pls clarfiy:

My answer is 280 (2)
Answer sheet is 360 (4)

I'm confused!

Q12 : Mr Goh had some badminton rackets.
On Monday, he sold 0.25 of them. He sold 20 fewer badminton rackets on Tuesday than on Monday.
If he had 160 badminton rackets left, how many badminton rackets did he have at first?

Many thanks

Hey there,

Learn to trust yourself and be confident in your own work at times.

Supposing there were 360 rackets at first.
Mon: Sold (1/4) = 90
Tue: Sold 20 fewer than on Mon = 70
Total Sold = 160
Left = 360 - 160 = 200

However, question says there were 160 rackets left.

Therefore, the answerkey (4) - 360 is incorrect.

Your answer of (2) - 280 is correct.

Good work!

Cheers,
Edward
