Hi, need help to solev this Qs:
Q18 : There were lilies and roses in a shop.
The ratio of the number of lilies to the number of roses was 13:10.
After 30% of the lilies and 1/5 of the roses were sold, there were 22 more lilies than roses left.
(a) How many lilies were there in the shop at first?
(b) A florist bought all the remaining lilies for $45.50. How much did she pay for each lily?
Many thanks!

Please refer to my attachment before viewing the workings.
a) 11u> 22
1u> 2
130u>260
b) 91u> 182
$45.50/182 = $0.25
I hope this helps you.

Hi tchtby,
Thanks for the detailed drawing and workings. Now I am able to see the question clearly.
Would be thankful if you could help solve the other school questions that I posted. Getting nervous as exams draw near.
Many thanks
