At a musical play, 35 % of the audience are male. 40% of the female audience are girls and 40% of the male audience are boys. What percentage of audience are children?

Hey Jenny,

Following pls find my worked solution:

M : F
35 : 65

G: 40% x 65u = 26u
B: 40% x 35u = 14u

Children = G + B = 26u + 14u = 40u

hence, % of audience (children) = 40%

=============

Trust this helps.

Do let me know again if this is different from your Answerkey or if there's further clarification.

Cheers,
Edward
