Hey Shirley,

Following pls find my worked solution:

(4/5) kg C + 2 kg M = 52 -- (1)
(1/4) kg C + 1 kg M = 23 -- (2)

(2)x2:
(1/2) kg C + 2 kg M = 46 -- (3)

(1)-(3):
(4/5) kg C - (1/2) kg C = 52 - 46
[(8 - 5)/10] kg C = 6
(3/10) kg C = 6
(1/4) kg C = 6 รท (3/10) x (1/4) = 6 x (10/3) x (1/4)
= 5

Subsitute this in (2):
5 + 1 kg M = 23
1 kg M = 23 - 5 = 18

hence, 1 kg of minced meat is \$18

============

Trust this helps.

Do let me know if this is different from your Answerkey or if there's further clarification.

Cheers,
Edward
