Lilian ----> \$x + \$k
Siti ----> \$x
Janet ----> (\$x + \$k) / 2

(a) Lialin + Siti + Janet -----> \$ 165
(\$x+\$k) + \$x + [ (\$x+\$k)/2] = \$165
2\$x + 2\$k + 2\$x + \$x + \$k = \$330
5\$x + 3\$k = \$330
\$(5x + 3k) = \$330
5x + 3k = 330
5x = 330 - 3k
x = (330 - 3k) / 5

(b) If k= \$8, x = [330 - (3x8)] /5
x = (330 -24) / 5
x =\$ 61.20

I hope my solution can help u.
