Mr Sasi and Mr Lim are selling computer sets. After Mr Sasi sold 55% of his computer sets and Mr Lim bought 30% of the computer sets sold by Mr Sasi, each of them had 1350 computer sets left. How many computer sets did Mr Lim have at first?

thanks

My Solution :

Mr. Sasi ------> 100% - 55%
= 45%
45%------->1350
1% ------->1350 / 45
= 30
So, 55% computers sold --------> 55 x 30
= 1650 sets

Mr. Lim bought 30% of the computer sets sold by Mr Sasi -----------> 1650 x 30%
= 495 sets
At first, Mr. Lim ---------> 1350 - 495
= 855

Interestingly, Mr Lim, who was supposed to be selling computers as well, didn't sell any and even ended up buying some from Mr Sasi!

I wonder if the poor sentence structure and allusion to Mr Lim selling computers (when he didn't) actually confused pupils who would have otherwise known how to answer a relatively simple question...
