Hi there,
Can any one help on the below question? I am not able to find out the solution or how to approach it.

Farah and Dina had the same number of cards at first. After Farah sold 18 of her cards, Dina had four times as many cards Farah. How many cards did each girl have at first?

Thanks a lot for any help!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,
Hope this help

At first
---------
Box | Box | Box | Box (F)
Box | Box | Box | Box (D)

Finally
_____
Box
Box | Box | Box | Box

Therefore 3u = 18 (3u or boxes were given away)
u=18/3=6

At first, each has 4u = 4x6=24
