This is easily answered with the method "units x value":

Price of a chicken --> 3 units
Price of a duck --> 4 units
Price of 400 chickens --> 3 units x 400 = 1200 units
Price of 200 ducks --> 4 units x 200 = 800 units
Total price --> 1200 units + 800 units = 2000 units
2000 units --> 7000
1 unit --> 3.5
1 chicken --> 3.5 x 3 = 10.5

Ans: \$10.50
