Hi Friends,

Could any one help me to solve this question?

The capacity of a pail is 1/5 that of a cylinder and the capacity of a bottle is 1/7 that of a pail. Find the total capacity of 3 pails and 5 bottles if the capacity of the cylinder is 15.4 litres.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

HWK

Hi,

If we read the question,

Pail = Cylinder / 5
Bottle = Pail / 7

Pail = 15.4 / 5
= 3.08

Bottle = 3.08 / 7
= 0.44

Total Capacity = 3 x 3.08 + 5 x 0.44
= 11.44 litres

Simple as that Smile
