Hey <sundarshoba>

Following is my worked solution:

Diagonals of the square floor are covered with grey tiles (G).

Given a total of 181 G tiles are used and the 2 diagonals form an "X" shape on the square floor, it has 1 G tile in the centre.

181 - 1 = 180
180 ÷ 4 = 45

In that "X" shape, there are 45 G tiles branching out from this central 1 G tile ( in the NE, SE, SW and NW directions ).

This 1 G tile in the centre is the 46th. Hence, there are 45 W tiles above this tile (in the North direction). Similary, there are 45 W tiles in the other 3 directions (East, South and West) of this 46th G tile.

Hence, the square floor is made up of 91 × 91 tiles.

91 × 91 = 8281
8281 - 181 = 8100 W tiles

Cost of 181 G tiles:
181 × 3 = 543

Cost of 8100 G tiles:
8100 × 3.20 = 25920

Total cost = 543 + 25920 = \$26463
