Can anyone help with this P4 math question?

1/3 of the pupils in the class wanted to go Japan.
1/4 of the pupils in the class wanted to go Korea.
1/6 of the pupils in the class wanted to go Thailand and the rest wanted to go Malaysia.
There were 3 more pupils who wanted to go Malaysia than Thailand.
Find the total number of the pupils in the class.

Answer given is: 3 x 12 = 36 pupils.

Thks!

common multiple of 3,4 & 6 is 12 thus choose 12 as the common denominator

Japan --> 1/3 = 4/12
Korea -->1/4 = 3/12
Thailand --> 1/6 = 2/12
Therefore, M'sia --> 12/12 - (4/12 + 3/12+2/12) = 3/12

Difference betw M'sia and Thailand is 1/12, thus 1/12 = 3 people
3 x12 = 36 total people
