Zara had 70 more dresses than skirts. She sold 3/4 of the dresses and 3/5 of the skirts. She sold 126 more dresses than skirts. What fraction of the remaining clothes that Zara had were skirts?

My girl & me worked out the sum & got 6/11 but the answer sheet shows 7/12. If 7/12 is the correct ans, can someone pls show me the working. Thank you.

common multiple of 4 and 5 =20

Before
dress 20u + 70
skirt 20u

Sold
dress 15u+52.5
skirt 12u

Left
dress 5u + 17.5
skirt 8u

Since 126 more dresses were sold than skirt, 15u+52.5-12u=126, 3u = 73.5, 1u=24.5

Number of dresses left = 140, skirt = 196
To find the fraction of skirt --> 196/336 = 7/12
