Will tuition and enrichment courses breed a dependency mentality on our children?

Many of our school children are attending tuition and enrichment classes besides keeping to regular school curriculum. Are additional classes beneficial in the long run? Will our children become too dependent on professional help to boost up their performance? Give some thoughts.

Tuitions and enrichment classes must necessarily help or guide the students rather than prove to be an additional burden to the existing workload. The upper primary levels (especially the primary 6) are provided with loads of practice papers by schools in all subjects. Hence the tuition classes must not add up to the stress of students.
This however may not be true to all the pupils. Some kids need to be motivated constantly and needs to boost up their confidence level. If this can be done efficiently by a tuition centre or a tutor, I am sure the student would contribute more than 100% from their side.
