Hi

Another average question for P5 :

Ques : Vincent's average savings for the first 6 months of the year was \$120.
If he had saved \$100 in Jan, his average savings would have been \$115.
How much did he actually save in Jan?

Thanks!

Jan - Jun -> 120 x 6 = 720
100 ( New Jan ) - Jun -> 115 x 6 = 690
720 - 690 = 30
30 + 100 = 130

This is just to share with everyone the tip I just learnt from School's teacher.
using of ":" colon, "," comma, "->" arrow, in the presentation of working is not accepted in PSLE.
should use "----"

Eg.
total saving from Jan to Jun ----- 120 x 6 = 720
save \$100 in Jan, total saving ----- 115 x 6 = 690
720 - 690 = 30
30 + 100 = 130
