Madam Lek had 57 apples and oranges altogether. There were 3 fewer oranges than apples. She gave away half as many oranges as apples to her neighbours. How many apples did she give away?

your question is complete only with this sentence.she was left with twice as many apples as oranges.

57-3=54
54/2=27(Oranges)
27+3=30(apples)

Now use guess and check method

NO: of Apples Apples Left NO:Of Oranges Oranges Left
given given

10 20 5 22 wrong

22 8 11 16 correct

22 apples were gives
